Reports from the June 26 Homeowners Meeting

Saturday, June 25, 2021 –We had a great turnout for the PBA semi-annual Homeowners Meeting at the Community House this morning.

Reports were presented by PBA committees about budget and dues collections, Community House activities, security, Deans Pond maintenance, roads and drainage, communications and beach accessibility.

We also heard from Mashpee Town Selectman Andrew Gotlieb about local water quality issues and future plans for wastewater management. Bob Hughes, representing Save Popponesset Bay, addressed us about their current progress and future plans to maintain the Spit. Barbara Reilly presented results of the 2021 PBA Survey.

Summary Points for PBA Board Meeting May 1, 2021:
  • PBA began work on boardwalk for beach access at Squaw’s Lane.
  • PBA continues working closely with the new security provider – Pilgrim Security – to prepare for 2021.  PBA Security Committee has been coordinating with Pilgrim and Mashpee town officials to ensure a safe and family friendly summer.
  • Some PBA Homeowners experienced delays in receiving bills for PBA dues. PBA Board members will meet with Mercantile Property (PBA’s billing company) to resolve the delay in mailings this month.
  • Earth Day cleanup at Dean’s Pond was a success.
  • PBA House Committee will post information on the Community House hiring process on its website

The PBA Board met on March 6, 2021 for their regular monthly business meeting.

Summary of Board Minutes:
  • PBA Board discussed final details on the Pilgrim Security contract which is expected to be signed during March 2021.
 
  • PBA Board will continue reaching out to abutting homeowners for the upcoming beach boardwalk work.
 
  • Pond Committee has signed a contract with SOLITUDE for environmental management services for Dean’s Pond
 
  • House Committee is considering options to increase inside sales for ice cream etc. for the summer of 2021.
