Boats on the beach

Motor craft

Motorboats cannot be launched from bathing beaches. Motorboats and water skiers must operate at a safe distance, beyond the buoys and at least 150 feet from the shoreline.

Sailboats

Popponesset homeowners only, may store a Sunfish on the beach if it is stored against a sea wall, but it must not be tied or locked to PBA stairs. Please remove all sailboats from the beach by Columbus Day in October in preparation for winter and the storm season. No other items such as inflatables, catamarans, kayaks, paddle-boards or personal belongings may be stored on our beaches.

Water Toys, etc.

Please use water toys, rafts, paddle-boards, wind-surfing boards, etc. with extreme caution and the safety of of bathers and other beach-goers.
