Requirements for Events and Gatherings

Popponesset beaches are private and are owned in common by the members of PBA who have exclusive deeded rights to use the beach. Any organized gathering on the beach, such as a group party, must be conducted with respect and consideration for the rights of all stakeholders who may want to use the beach for normal activities such as bathing, playing, resting, walking or sitting. 

No organized events or gatherings can be held on the beaches on a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday from June 15 to September 10th.

No organized events or gatherings can be held on the beaches on a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday from June 15 through September 10th. A Popponesset homeowner planning to host a group activity or event for anything other than normal beach use, must submit a request by email to the PBA at least 2 weeks in advance of the event. An event may not impede any other legitimate stakeholder's normal use of the beach. You may not block off any part of the beach or beach access point. You will be responsible for clean-up after your event. All usual beach rules will apply, see: PBA Rules and PBA Rules/Beaches. 

Blocking Off Streets

For safety reasons the Mashpee Fire Department does not allow blocking off of streets for an event. If you plan to hold a Block Party you must contact the Town of  Mashpee to request a permit.
