The Fishermens Landing parking lot is at the shore end of Wading Place Road in Popponesset and is under the jurisdiction of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and co-managed by the Popponesset Beach Association for the use of MA permitted shore fishermen.
Parking Hours
Parking at the Fishermens lot is allowed between 5:00 AM and 9:30 PM for up to six vehicles. A current Saltwater Fishing Permit must be displayed on the vehicle dashboard. Use of the lot is for the purpose of shore fishing only. Those who park there for any other purpose, such as swimming, sun-bathing, or other activities, are subject to be removed from the beach and parking lot and may be towed. Cars parked in the Fishermens Lot after 9:30 PM are in violation and may be towed. There is no overflow daytime parking for fishermen allowed on the street or at the Popponesset Community House.
Night-time Parking for Fishing - 9:30 PM to 5:00 AM
Pursuant to agreement with the MA Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, parking at the Popponesset Community House may be available for a maximum of 6 vehicles for night-time shore fishing. Vehicles must display a current PBA Parking Permit and Saltwater Fishing Permit on the dashboard. Cars parked at the Community House that do not display a current PBA Parking Permit and Saltwater Fishing Permit, or are not there for the purpose of shore fishing, may be towed.
How to Apply for a PBA Parking Permit
Email a request to Popponesset Beach Association at: [email protected]. Include a scan or photo of your current Saltwater Fishing Permit and provide your vehicle year, registration number and description. Allow at least 5 days for a reply.
