![]() Our community runs on volunteer energy! We are a collection of homes, but more than that we are a group of neighbors who make this community run. There are many ways to join the group and help keep our little community the wonderful, unique place that we all love. On April 22nd many helpers showed up all around Popponesset to pick up litter, fix road signs, and help us get ready for the Summer. That evening we met at the Community House to share a potluck meal and socialize with new and old friends. We welcome all members to join the fun and help with our activities and programs. We have several events planned in the coming months including the July 4th Field Day and Parade, our annual road race, the summer children's sports and activies, and more. Please reach out to the PBA with an email if you would like to be more involved. Contact Us. Karyn Leslie led a lively group of friends and neighbors for “Make & Take Signs” at Popponesset’s Community House crafts night. The group had so much fun creating their signs they asked Karyn to set up another session as soon as possible. Watch the website calendar for a date!
The next event at the House will be Shuffleboard practice and play, Sunday, December 11 at 1:00 PM, and a Cookie Swap on Thursday, December 15 at 1:00. Community House activities are open to all Popponesset members. For more information check our website activities calendar at this link: CALENDAR. We had a wonderful turnout at last night’s Halloween Potluck party – just one of the events at the Community House this Fall. A calendar of November and December Community House events is posted at the House and can be found in member’s PBA emails. For the most recent updated information see our live calendar on the PBA website at CALENDAR. After 8 months of diligent work, this morning we hosted our Spring Homeowner's meeting in our totally renovated Community House. The building project addressed major necessary maintenance issues in the sixty-odd year-old building such as a leaky roof, inadequate insulation and ventilation, plumbing and electrical, as well as improvements like ADA accessible bathrooms and improved storage. We are delighted with the resulting clean, bright, airy, modern space that we hope will serve the community for decades to come and help create lots of great Popponesset memories to treasure. The project was funded by member donations and operating funds and was led by a team of diligent volunteers who contributed not only money, but guidance, research, creative interior design, and hours of hands-on labor. |
